Grafitti art by ‘Pøbel’ on an abandoned house and sheds near Borgvag, Lofoten Islands, arctic Norway. The Ghetto Spedalsk project was a collaboration between Norwegian street artists Pøbel and Dolk in 2008 where they stencil-decorated a number of dilapidated buildings in the Lofoten Islands in Arctic Norway. The artworks breathed new life into these abandoned buildings that have lost both their value and residents. Each building now has a new inhabitant whether it be a person in a gas mask or Julie Andrews dancing in a wheelchair. The project drew attention to the depopulation and decay taking place in rural Norway, in particular the Lofoten islands.
