Terraced fields below China’s 18,000 ft. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain depended on melt water from rapidly disappearing #glaciers. Since 2006, glaciers on the mountain have shrunk more than 600 ft. due to a lack of snow and increased rain. Climatologists have found the Himalayas to be most sensitive to climate change, and call it “the third pole”, as they store more water than anywhere else outside of the polar regions. #climatechangeisreal
